Smocking

Here are a couple pictures of my first smocking project ever. Well, not a project, really, more like a sample practice piece. Don't look too closely because it's not perfect. In fact, I've had to resist the temptation to take out the mistakes and redo it, but have to patiently remind myself that I'm learning.

I'm thrilled with myself to see that I've finally learned to do something I've wanted to for years. It's tough and going to take practice, but is there anything worthwhile in life that doesn't?

Are you learning something new? What is it?

Reading believe it or not. I used to read...then life gets in the way. After reading the Twilight series, it inspired me to read more and let me escape for a moment. I'm actually going to the bookstore today to see what trouble I can find! Not new, but its new to me considering the last few years. Nice job on the smocking!

Yes I am learning something new...KNITTING...but you have to fix all my errors. Maybe when I grow up I will get it.

I just got the new photshop and it's so cool! I am learning how to edit and make my photos super fun! I must take a class though... there are too many options...lol! :) Great job on the smocking!

Good job on the smocking. I took a class before Christmas '07. Got about halfway finished with one plate...it's still sitting unfinished in my sewing drawer. Hope you can stick with it, cause it is a wonderful art!
